Launching the Office of Emotional Wellness

We are excited to announce the launch of the new Office of Emotional Wellness at Cheder Lubavitch Morristown founded from a generous grant from the Healthcare Foundation of NJ.

This in-school department will provide clinical guidance as students navigate through adolescence and young adulthood.

The four pillars of the office are to provide:

1) Education: Bring awareness to teachers, parents and students about mental health.

2) Therapy: Individual and group therapy sessions to address mental health needs of our students.

3) School-Wide Programming:  Implement behavioral intervention, social-emotional wellness programs, and provide support during regional or global crises that impact our community.

4) Referral Services: Identify students with needs that require attention beyond the schools capability and help parents through that process.

In its first year, services will be geared towards adolescents and teens (grades 5-8) with frum male and female school counselors on site in school. Our hope is that this year’s pilot will be so successful, we will be able to expand the program to include elementary school and preschool in the coming academic year.
